Prompt: As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response - My favorite word from our vocab is defile, because I think it's a pretty expressive way of saying something, and adds impact when you use it correctly. I don't use it very often, if at all, but there is a Warhammer model called a defiler. Summary - Today in class, we kept working on our presentation project. Reflection - Today, we checked the progress on our presentation.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Prompt Response - Imagination helps me cope with boredom by thinking of things to design out of Legos. Whenever I'm feeling burnt out or bored, I'll make small builds integrating building techniques that I'm testing out, and sometimes this will inspire me to build a full model. Summary - Today in class, we read a new poem and started a presentation project. Reflection - Today, we had to think about how to do our presentation.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

Prompt Response - A time that I faced a dangerous situation was when I was cooking and almost started a fire. I was cutting vegetables while I had something in the oven, and then I got distracted. When I was doing that, I started to smell something burning and realized that I had forgotten about what was in the oven. Due to being careless, I could have started a fire that would have burned the house down. After that, I focused on what I was doing until the meal was done. Summary - Today in class, we worked on the comic strip assignment. Reflection - Today, we had to incorporate vocabulary words into our comic strip.

Prompt: How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

Prompt Response - Three things I do to enjoy moments throughout my day are listen to music, click my pen, and reach a higher score on BlockBlast. I enjoy listening to music while doing work because it helps me lock in and enjoy myself by humming lyrics sometimes. Another thing I like to do is fidget with my pen by clicking it a bunch, even though it annoys people sometimes. The last thing I like to do is play Blockblast when I can spare some time, because increasing my high score of 1,277,159 is a fun challenge. Summary - Today in class, we finished an assignment on Writable. Reflection - Today, we kept evaluating a text and finished writing an answer to a prompt that made us think about the morality of killing.

Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response - A time that someone's words had a lasting impact on me was when they talked about if the world ended during high school, how would you look back on your life. They talked about how when they looked back on their life, they always saw themselves studying or working, which caused them to push everyone around them away. This had an impact on me because it caused me to realize I needed to be more social, like hanging out with friends or going to parties. You never know when everything could end, so you should live it to the fullest. Summary - Today in class, we started another assignment on Writable. Reflection - Today, we evaluated a text and wrote an answer to a prompt that made us think about the morality of killing.

Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt Response - One time I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I chose to present my group's research project in front of the class. I'm not a fan of public speaking and would prefer to stick to the background if anything. During the presentation, I stuttered a bit and messed up a bit, but it turned out okay in the end. Prompt: Write about a dream that felt real.

Prompt Response - One dream I had that felt real was me walking through a field of grass on a sunny day. Prompt Response - One thing I've been curious about is how worms reproduce. Back when I was in elementary school, a group of classmates and I saw a worm crawl out of another worm while on the playground. Being kids, we said it was giving birth, but I never actually found out what happened that day. Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response - I don't receive many gifts nowadays, and the ones I do get, I usually get myself, but one gift that I can recall getting is the Lego Imperial Star Destroyer. It was a gift given to me by my aunt about a year ago, and it's a pretty cool set. I haven't gotten around to building it yet due to a lack of space, but I am looking forward to it. It talked about how when they looked back on their life, they always saw themselves studying or working, which caused them to push everyone around them away. This caused me to realize I needed to be more out there and not judge myself so harshly. I also tried to be more social, like hanging out with friends or going to parties, because you never know when everything could end, so you should live it to the fullest. Summary - Today in class, we wrote down new definitions and started an assignment. Reflection - Today, we learned new definitions.

Prompt: Write about something that you believed as a child.

Prompt Response - Something I believed as a child was that wolves knew how to use doorknobs and handles. I thought this because when I was a kid, I was afraid of wolves eating me while I slept, so I would always close my door when I went to bed. Later on, I had seen the part in Jurassic Park where the velociraptors open the door, and that made me think that wolves could as well. Summary - Today in class, we wrote down new definitions and started an assignment. Reflection - Today, we learned new definitions.
