Prompt Response - When I was little, my parents forbade me from getting into a stranger’s car. They always told me that even if someone seemed nice or offered me something, it could be dangerous because you never really know a person’s true intentions. At the time, I thought they were just being overly protective, but now I understand they were trying to protect me from harm. Summary - Today in class, we read The Rockpile. Prompt Response - The three I think I will use the most this semester are affinity, ambiguous, and animosity. I would use affinity for showing how much someone likes something, and ambiguous for when I'm describing something vague. Lastly, I would use animosity for when I describe someone I don't like. Summary - Today in class, we worked on a vocabulary worksheet. Reflection - Today, we learned some complex words to enhance our writing.
Prompt Response - A time that I faced a dangerous situation was when I was cooking and almost started a fire. I was cutting vegetables while I had something in the oven, and then I got distracted. When I was doing that, I started to smell something burning and realized that I had forgotten about what was in the oven. Due to being careless, I could have started a fire that would have burned the house down. After that, I focused on what I was doing until the meal was done. Summary - Today in class, we worked on the comic strip assignment. Reflection - Today, we had to incorporate vocabulary words into our comic strip.
