Prompt: Write about a fear you have overcome.

Prompt Response - A fear I have overcome is my fear of blood. When I was a kid, blood would always make my skin crawl or make me gag. I always hated looking at scars or scrapes, but at the same time, I was always intrigued by them. As time has gone by, with shows and other media, as well as learning about the circulatory system and other things, it hasn't bothered me as much. Nowadays, everything is digital, and even if you buy something, it doesn't always mean that you own it. As time goes on and I get to know people better, I'm able to adjust closer to myself while still fitting in. Summary - Today in class, we took notes on ethos, pathos, and logos. Reflection - Today, we discussed the meaning of ethos, pathos, and logos, and made examples.

Prompt: Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

Prompt Response - A time I was judged unfairly was when I was working on a group project. My classmates thought I hadn’t done any work because I was messing around, even though I had already finished my part. Due to this, they were annoyed and were saying that they would tell the teacher I hadn't done anything. I showed them the slide I had done, and they settled down, but told me not to mess around as much because it was distracting. Summary - Today in class, we had a CommonLit to work on. In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

Prompt Response - A time I felt like an interloper was when I first joined the lacrosse team last year. At first, I didn't really know anybody and would usually lag behind and not talk much. As time went on though, I would socialize more and ended up becoming friends with a lot of the team and learned that some of us shared similar hobbies.
