Prompt: Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research.

Prompt Response -
The most compelling issue I had with my research was how it can both help and harm people’s mental health. Social media allows teens and young adults to stay connected, build friendships, and find support, which can reduce loneliness and depression. At the same time, other research found that heavy social media use can increase anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem because of cyberbullying, social comparison, and too much screen time. I find this issue important because social media is a big part of people’s daily lives, and understanding their positive and negative effects can help people build healthier online habits.
